The perfect camping site

I mentioned in an earlier post that we were the lucky/proud owners of a camper this year. We are really excited about it because we love taking our boys out on little trips, take them camping and fishing, and just get away from home and out of town with our family... but of course it costs money, so we can't always just pick up and travel somewhere.

Well, now we can because we have our little camper to sleep in, hide out inside to play and eat if the weather isn't holding up, and then we can just head out from there. We've spend a while searching for the perfect camping place, and I'll be the first to admit, I'm quite picky! ;) I'm not willing to settle for a place with other campers. I want to be near the water so my boys can play on the beach, swim, and go boating. I want playgrounds so that the kids can have fun on their own without us constantly trying to plan an activity. I want a place that the kids can be excited to go back to, a place they can feel free and safe, and a place we can just relax with our family!

I think we found 'our place' today! The weather was terrible when we were there to look around, but it had a lot more to offer than the previous places we had been to, plus more! We're bringing the camper there soon so I'll post more updates and pictures then!!! :)

Graduation Day

Elliot graduated from daycare today. This means he is now a First Grader!!! Well, he doesn't officially start first grade for a couple more months, but I still can't believe my son has grown up so much.

Daycare had arranged a grillparty for the parents, along with a small performancy by the kids. Then they ended it by handing out a folder with drawings, photoes, and projects created by each kid throughout their years at daycare. Along with the folder and certificate, they received a little tree that is meant to be planted in your yard to watch grow along with you.

Mike and I absolutely love Aiden and Elliot's daycare, and we're so thankful for the staff that work there! They create such a safe and fun environment for the kids. They think of so many exciting activities and the boys get to be a part of so many things that we couldn't offer them at home. I'm so lucky we got into that daycare and I'm really happy that we're having another child so we can continue to be a part of it for many more years! :)

Peaceful

A friend of mine asked me today how I can be so at peace with everything. I don't think she meant to be rude. I chose to take it as a compliment.

I know things have been tough and we've been thrown a lot of challenges at us, but you know what, you can't do anything but to deal the cards you've been dealt so why try otherwise!?

I'm content. I have been blessed with an amazing family and incredible friends. We lucked out with buying a wonderful house for our family. We are healthy and happy. Things could be worse.

So here I am... Sitting at home. My boys are sleeping peacefully in their beds and I just spent the evening relaxing with the love of my life. How can I not be at peace? Life is good!

Is summer here?!

We've had the craziest weather so far this year. One day we had snow, then the rain melted it away... then followed a couple sunnier days, which quickly turned back into cold and nasty weather.

Well, I'm hoping it's turning around now because we really could use a good summer. Being that I'm pregnant and hoping for a relaxing summer at home, I would love the weather to be good enough to enjoy every single day outside... without raingear, that is!

Today was gorgeous! It wasn't quite warm enough to take out the pool, but it was nice. We spent the entire day playing in our yard and were able to enjoy every meal outside on our deck! Lets hope this is the beginning of summer!

Listening to my body... what!?

My body has been in quite a bit of pain lately and isn't quite agreeing with my mind. Apparently, I'm being stubborn and trying to do more than my body wants me to. I've been having a lot of pre-contractions lately that have been more painful than they should. My doctor was concerned and wanted to do a follow-up at the hospital, but warned me that most likely it's just my body trying to tell me to slow down and not do so much.

My appointment at the hospital was this morning and the result I left there with was exactly as my doctor had predicted: I need to slow down a bit and not forget that I'm pregnant. The amount of lifting I had been doing between work, house-chorus and being a mom of two active ones at home was something I needed to focus on. It's not dangerous to do those things and you shouldn't stop being active when you're pregnant, but you need to be more aware of your limits. I know this, but it's hard to do it without feeling like you're letting down other people. I guess this appointment was a reality check. I need to concentrate on myself and this baby; not let my guilty conscience decide things for me. I'm quite curious to how I'll be able to do this...
